To be eligible for enrollment in the Instructor’s Program, one must hold a valid Cosmetology License for a minimum of year.

To successfully complete the Cosmetology Instructor Program, students must complete 750 clock hours.

This program is designed to prepare licensed cosmetologists for successful careers as professional educators in the beauty industry. Students develop the instructional knowledge, technical skills, leadership abilities, and professional competencies necessary to effectively teach cosmetology theory and practical applications in a licensed school setting.

Throughout the program, instructor trainees learn to prepare comprehensive lesson plans, develop and utilize audio/visual teaching aids, create instructional handouts, implement engaging teaching strategies, conduct classroom discussions, administer examinations, and evaluate student performance. Emphasis is placed on effective classroom management, instructional methods, communication skills, school policies and procedures, and cost-effective educational practices.

In the practical teaching environment, instructor trainees assist in supervising students as they perform services for the public. They are expected to demonstrate professionalism, provide constructive guidance, reinforce proper safety and sanitation procedures, model effective communication, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Students complete a written examination following each chapter to assess comprehension and measure academic progress. These assessments, along with attendance and practical performance, are used to evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at the scheduled evaluation points of 375 and 750 actual completed clock hours, in accordance with the institution’s SAP policy.
